A big thanks to the REAL Motojunkies, you know who you are, The Big White Guy, Manny Ornellas at CDG, Kevin Grant, Derek at IMX, Valley Motosport, Hammertime, MxForum, Mike Jackson, @ THRILLERSHOP, Steve at SewCal, Las Vegas Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino Business Center, Rob French (for the laughs and keeping me somewhat sane during those Hollywood pitch meetings, Clayton Westgate, Sharla, Christy and everyone else who helped get MoToJeWeL out there.
How it all began…
I have decided it is finally time to share how MoToJeWeL came to be. In early 2002 I was housebound with a broken arm and a concussion thanks to a tree that jumped out in front of me. Don’t worry, my motorcycle was not harmed. It was then I decided to put my creativity to use so I put all of my energy into writing. Since then, out of every injury, a new screenplay was born. I have completed 8 so far.
Back then, I had outlined an idea for a screenplay titled, “Motojunkies”. The first draft was completed in 2006 and the final polish was completed in early 2008. I am not sure why I did this but I left the screenplay to simmer for a couple years before attacking it again and taking it to completion. Maybe all I needed was another concussion in order to finish it. I got that concussion but that is a story in itself.
Since all good characters have back stories, MoToJeWeL and the tire tread heart logo was created by one of the female racer girl characters in the screenplay.
I had passed along the third draft of the screenplay to one of my trusted friends to read. On the back cover I had scribbled the tire tread heart logo which is what you see today. This friend, read the screenplay, saw my scribble, called me and said, “Jules, you have to do something with that.” So I took his advice and MoToJeWeL came to be.
The first batch of shirts was delivered to the Las Vegas Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino just in time for the final round of the 2008 SX.
This is just the beginning for MoToJeWeL
See you at the races,
Julie
